Has anyone any recommendations for next year, happy to pick up something now if there's any discounts or wait until next year.

Looking for something for the front of the house, happy to hand on gutter or run around windows.

homestore and more do the job for me every year. Wait til late Nov tho their lights go half price.

We had 2 sets of 2000 cluster external lights from homestore and more break on us this year, the wire going back to the plug was bent too easily and broke from being at a 90 degree angle to the plug. Need to find an alternative for this year as their pretty pricey at €70 a go.

Have been thinking about this thread for the last couple of days as I know I will need to purchase two sets of good thick cluster lights for the gutters this year as the old ones have developed a couple of bald patches (like meself).

Also, we have a Merry Christmas sign as a kind of centre piece between the two upstairs windows but would love something new as a wow factor.

Have any of you started making any plans for what you'll do this year? Where do you buy most of your decorations from?

And do any of you go all out in and around the house?

I use these, we use them year round as they are not specifically Christmassy.

I'd love to put lights on the border of our house cos our roof is apex and it's a semi detached house. I wouldn't have a clue how to get them up, would need to get someone in to do it. I love the look of these lights from BT:

I got talking to an employee of a contractor we use in work and this lad takes two weeks off at the end of Nov, start of Dec and charges €60 a house in his area to hang peoples exterior lights and he's flat out for those two weeks.

I hung exterior lights for one of my neighbours last year and the happiness on her and her daughters face when they were lit up was brilliant.
