No word on the outcome of their discussions on the start/finish area move for DCM.

From last year's thread the 2023 prices are below.

Just checked event master order history and in 2019 you could have got the half and 10 mile entry for the price of the half this year, it's gone to the dogs, pure **** greed. The race is also now covers a smaller area with less RCO requirements.

Corkagh Park - 5 Mile 18th June - €18

Fingal - 10k 16th July - €22

Frank Duffy - 10 Mile 19th August - €28

Dublin Half Marathon - 23rd September €35

They've changed the 5 mile from Tallaght to Corkagh park.

Total Bundle costs €97

Maybe their justification is they all sold out last year (I think) so its supply and demand.

Only done the half out of the race series over the last 7/8 years as it would give you a good idea where you were set for Dublin marathon.

Races should cut the t shirts unless you want to pay for one. Organisers save money as unnecessary waste. The price they charge won’t cut the cost of entry by roughly same amount.

I’d even throw the medals into it but that’s a hard one to do.

Just noticed the half is 9am on a Sunday.

Thats me out. And probably lots of others who rely on public transport.

(I am sure the change is due to planning / issues with Dublin City Council and not the teams choice. But jeez its hard to shake the feeling DCC is trying to kill running events in Dublin)

10 mile and Half both still in the Phoenix Park is a shame, no mention of routes yet but if they are they same as last few years then it's an even bigger shame.

Have to be honest, Corkagh 5 mile is just a slightly longer Corkagh parkrun, did it last year and running on paths around a park (and narrow enough paths in some areas) doesn't really interest me. I'll do the Fingal 10K as I live local, plus you run on actual roads, so it feels like a race. I've done races in the park and again they're very meh for me, no real support, parking is a pain. Tallaght was a better (for me) location.

The fact that there is no discount for doing multiple events, makes my decision to only do Fingal that much easier.

Half moved to Sunday as they are starting course outside park to avoid two laps.

Wonder are we looking at start in city and finish in park? Any sort of baggage drop & transfer to finish areas would need to have been planned for by now in that case, but you can bet it hasn't been.

Worked well with the Rock N Roll Half a few years ago. That was a great route I thought.

They replied using their account on Facebook for a query not really related to the course, it's in the 100+ thread of replies from last week.

They said they had to move to a Sunday due to survey feedback so as to change the course enough.

RnR type route would be nice and good prep for different start/finishes for DCM if needed.

I don't really understand why there is so much hostility towards the organisers of this, seems like a thankless task and, as many races disappear from the calendar altogether, it probably wouldn't hurt to hold back a bit until you see the actual details

That's fantastic news. Hated the new course. Used to be great when it went outside the park at whites gate and back in furry glen and used the zoo side. I would love to see them not run around the pitches. Don't know how there haven't been more pile ups there. I had someone running so close to me last year that they were clipping the underside of my foot as I lifted it from the tarmac 😂
