Converted Attic in Sale Agreed Property: Pool Table?

    Hello,

I have been trying to find answers to whether it would be feasible to put a pool table (est. 100/150kg), do not want to get a full slate table as it would be near impossible to get it up there, in the converted attic space.

I read previous discussions on this forum of users asking about the possibility of using a home gym, and a commentor mentioned in one of those (https://www.boards.ie/discussion/2058130316/convertible-attic-floor-load-bearing-rating), that the UK regulations are for a floor to have capacity of 150kg/m2 (https://www.diydoctor.org.uk/projects/loftflooring.htm).

Another commentor in the above thread stated "1.5kN/m2 is the standard imposed loading (called variable action these days) taken for domestic floor design in Ireland", am I right in thinking this is similar to the 150kg/m2 just wrote using different terminology? I feel if this is the case, our vendors have the certificate for works carried out, the pool table should not be any issue.

I have asked the engineer who carried out the survey but was waiting an age previously for his response to other matters so will not be holding my breath!

Any insight, or pointing in directions to go for answers would be greatly appreciated.

    Best wishes,

    DB
