What is the story with Farm Entitlements if you lease out your land to another farmer?Do you have to let them claim the entitlements or can you hold on to them? Sorry not very well up on this side of things.

You have to be working (or have the use of) 1 hectare per entitlement you want to claim for a required portion of the year.

In practice, that will mean that two people can't claim based off the same hectare. You don't actually identify each specific entitlement with each specific hectare, but you have to submit the "maps" for the land you are working and there obviously can't be an overlap with another person.

Some people rent the entitlements with the land. Which can be useful if you are getting the long term lease tax relief

Most land leases are just the land only which is the most straightforward way to work and it eliminates any uncertainty about how much money is being paid etc or when the tenant gets paid from the EU each year or how much money they receive from the eu

Your existing entitlements if you are no longer submitting a bps application you have 2 choices either sell your entitlements or lease them out and you can sell/lease to anybody in the country you don't have to sell/lease to the person now using your land if you don't want to

Just let your land per acre per year simple and straightforward
