    Hi

I’ll bringing my little grandaughter to Charley and the Chocolate Factory in Bord Gais this weekend. I’m not familiar with public transport options in the city so can someone advise me on the best option to get to the Bord Gáis from Dundrum, without her having to walk too far ?

Luas to Dawson Street or Westmoreland Street then walk down to the Bord Gais or S6 to Blackrock then DART to Grand Canal Dock if you don't fancy walking down Pearse Street. 14 to Eden Quay may also be an option depending what part of Dundrum you're coming from.

I would get a taxi for that one. PT means changing LUAS to DART or Bus. Much quicker in a cab, if walking is an issue.

Depending on where you are in Dundrum, you could get the Luas Green line to O'Connell St or the 14 bus to Eden Quay, switch to the Luas Red line and get off at Mayor Sq and walk 10 mins across the Samuel Beckett Bridge to the BGE Theatre.

Depends on the age, but once they are out of the pram age, a 10 minute walk should be fine for most kids. Plus they love taking the Luas/Dart/Bus, something fun and novel for them. Just give a little extra time for slower walking.

Source, travel all over on public transport with my daughter.

Bus 44 from Dundrum to Westland Row. From there about a 12 minute walk to BGET.

Thanks all! Lots of options there.

I’m from the sticks and hate driving into the city.

The 44 is only hourly so might not be the best option for the OP

If you can time it right, Luas to o'connell gpo and then the 60 bus from eden quay. The 60 is only once an hour but your entire walking time will be less than 3 minutes.
