Green initiatives that involve using less electricity: Why dont taxes decrease with the savings

Im not a conspiracy theorist but if the bills from these "intelligent" policies are going down, why dont taxes

needs to be moved to infrastructure.

but basically green technologies (especially in power generation) are small scale and intermittent so you need backups which generally aren't green and so bills dont go down.

I really cant believe that they think less lighting on motorways, never mind non motorways, is going to make it safer. It might if the fixed the millions of broken catseyes, but i doubt it.

Clearly some brain scutter from someone who has never had to drive at night on an unlit road.

Most of Germany's Autobahn network is unlit. Road lighting is not always positive.. it increases glare and can reduce your ability to see other vehicles in fog.

I drove the M1 corridor recently and the junctions to the newer lighting standard are fine, it actually looks ridiculous when you then come across one of the junctions (I assume the ppp section) which is fully lit. It seems crazy it was ever felt that lighting dootprint was necessary

I didn't understand the question.

Are you asking why emissions-based motor tax isn't decreased when some of the roads use less electricity? Or are you asking about tolls?

And are you saying that the answer of "electricity costs are miniscule compared with the roads budget" is not an answer?
