Visiting Dublin Castle

It's been rather frustrating.

I've tried to visit Dublin Castle today, tried to take a walking tour. It would have interested me greatly.

I've checked the internet, said, it would open at 10 am. At 10 am I was sent away, to return for 12 am. And at 12 am they were not even sure, they would open Dublin Castle at 2pm.

Apparently the reason given is that there is a Christmas market going on, and the wind might fall in the wind, hitting visitors.

Christmas markets are starting to get on my nerves by now.

Anybody wanting to visit Dublin Castle to take a tour isn't interested in visiting a Christmas market, nor has understanding for everything to close down, just because of this Christmas market.

I'll try my luck tomorrow, we'll see, or if I can even get tickets....

Trivia fact for you ,the blokes on the gates are called constables also I’m barred from the Dublin Castle.

Kilmainham Jail is harder to get into than out of at this stage....

Seems that with the storm on Saturday, the Christmas markets had to close for safety reasons, and because the Christmas market infrastructure was there, the tours had to be canceled too (again on safety grounds).

Unfortunate, for those who would like to have attended the markets or toured the castle, but I'm not sure it's the big deal the OP is making it out to be.

They describe it as "A free, non-ticketed event.", so no, you don't need to book.*

No, the website says:

• Tickets: Tickets are not required for Christmas at the Castle 2023. If the venue reaches full capacity at any time patrons will be required to queue in lower yard.

I would have been happy to pay for the visit to the Dublin Castle. That bloody Christmas market didn't interest me in any way. This is why I was unhappy that the Castle closed just because of this Christmas market....

Ok, well next year I’ll make sure both Dublin Castle and the weather is set up to suit your wishes specifically, but this year, I want the market there and I want storms. I can’t say fairer than that, you’ll just have to learn to compromise.
