In fairness Dempo lots of people mention extra benefits that are available for certain social welfare payments and I missed out on a good chunk myself by not realizing right away that I had additional entitlements to eg. fuel allowance. I always thought I’d not get it. I don’t know if it’s a serious thread or not but would tend to give the OP the benefit of the doubt in this case.

Even if the thread was potentially satirical, I think (and perhaps maybe more suited to politics or current affairs) there's a good discussion behind the main issue with our welfare system. Lifers get more where folks like the OP (and myself for that matter earlier this year) get the base rate and nothing else.

This is a major issue. I was expected to transition to a situation where a full month of JSB payments didnt even cover 1 week of my normal pay, let alone cover outgoings like mortgage or car payment etc.

If you want a house, pitch a tent on the steps of some government building.

For extra points bring your children, babies are worth more.

Dont forget to bring a photographer with you too or inform the local rag when you will be there and they will send one.

And if that doenst work sleep in the police station. You'll need to sort out a photographer for that one too. And as ever - babies equal more points.

If you are in any way worried about getting all your ducks in a row before doing this there are certain media whores who will help you with it.

Seriously though OP, You might find you have to pay tax on your dole at the end of the year if you were working for part of the year.

The first mistake you made op was having a job in the first place. But it's not too late. There's a whole load of non curable non-dectable illnesses like the bad back syndrome. When you have a child get him wired up on red bull and have a private doctor diagnose him/her as adhd, a nice little money bonus there. You'll eventually be given a forever home so lots of free money from the svp or exceptional needs payment from the welfare. My top money saving tip would not to pay the rent on the council house, nothing they can do.

Does anyone know where else to find a nice Romanian gypsy? From Moore Street all decent are gone, or not able to have more then 11 kids. The child benefit is booming. I already have 7 wives, my king Alladin does not allow more also for dependents 😢
