I owe Electric Ireland some money, I received a text message today asking me to phone a company called 'CMOS' urgently quoting a ref no.

The phone no. checks out as being legit, I paid €100 to Electric Ireland online but it hasn't reflected on the site yet, even after a few hours. Can EI refuse to accept a payment directly but it still goes through on their payment page? The payment shows up on my banking app.

It looks like they're using RVM tech to leave voicemails also, is this legal in Ireland?

They appear to be little more than a debt collection agency. Do not engage with them.

Ring Electric Ireland and sort it with them.

Get them to set up a payment plan and try your best to stick to it.
