Christmas bonus

I know you have to be getting the JSA for so long to get the Christmas bonus . I was on JSA for about 11 months, then I got off it to get a summer job for two months . Now I'm back on JSA for two months.

Do you think I'll get the Christmas bonus

Do you have to be on the JSA continuously for 12 months to get it? Or do they look at the last two years how long you were on it

I'm not 100% sure , Technically you wouldn't qualify but last year they showed discretion due the cost of living crisis. Its being paid today so if you didn't get it , unlikely you will .

I didnt get it last year. I was unemployed 11 months and 1 week at time of Christmas bonus last year and they didn't give christmas bonus to me!

Oh well. It's just sad when other unemployed people get it. How does it make sense.

Like if you stay on JSA for a year, you get a bonus.

If you come off JSA and work for any period of time, you then dont get the bonus.

If you were only on jobseeker a week before Christmas they'd not have paid it ,there was I believe discretion for those, say on Jobseekers a few months.

Unfortunately you have to be on Jobseekers allowance for consecutive months, if you sign off even for a week, the eligibility clock starts from scratch when you sign back on if that makes sense.
