How to fix Kitchen press hinge

My kitchen press kept getting loose/wobbly so every now and then I had to screw back in the top screws in the hinge that were coming loose. Now the top screw wont stay in at all as it's been screwed in too many times? What's best way to fix this? Lower the hinge to give a new clean entry point for the screw? I've the press off completely now to avoid it getting damaged. See pics below...

I assume it's the bit that is attached to the press that is off rather than bit attached to door.

Had similar lately when grandson swung off door and pulled it out of chipboard carcass making the holes too big for screws in the process. In this case though that press was beside another one so I just used much longer screws and they anchored in the side wall of the adjoining press.

Another option is stick a few broken matches/toothpicks in there to tighten up the space and screw in screws again, may or may not work but worth a try, I have used that for lots of loose door screws.

There are also fancier metal repair plates that you can get but I tried the longer screws first before going to the bother of getting them from amazon, couldn't see anything similar locally.

You can buy metal plates from Amazon etc to screw over the holes and go again

A few drops of PVA glue (or wood glue) into the hole and then three match-stick ends shoved in tightly and then screw it back.

Yes, sometime in the middle of the night I woke up and it came into my mind I should have mentioned a shot of glue with the matchsticks 😂 what exciting nights I have!

Oh and those screws don't have good threads, that's part of the problem here too. I'd grab some matching 15mm screws in Woodies, but with deeper threads on them.

Ah that's unreal everybody!

Never knew metal repair plates existed!

Would never have thought of the glue and matchstick idea!

Longer screws with deeper threads would also work!
