Cable routing

    Hi,

I have two questions about domestic wiring regulations

    1. Should conduit be used when passing multiple T&E cables (2.5mm) through a garage wall (where the consumer unit is located) to under a suspended timber floor on the other side?

    2. Should cables running under a suspended timber floor be secured to joists or is normal to have cables resting on the ground?

    Thanks!

    2. Tack them to joists , keep them down more than 50mm from floor level imo

    1. Dunno is there a regulation on that

I would at least ensure they won't get damaged passing through

Then you've possibly air tightness, rodents to consider . I'd at least plug the holes with insulation
