€429 for a 55 is good price even if basic quality regular viewing work BUT for decent PS5 performance afaik the panel needs to have 2 fundamental things:

HDMI 2.1

120hz

yes apparently on the HDMI 2.1 but the carton has nothing useful stated about its engine, I googled the life out of the part number tried variations no joy

does anyone know if this panel is suitable for PS5 work (play)?

I’d give it a miss myself for PS5 gaming if that’s your primary goal. It’s 50hz (so 50fps) never mind 120hz.

I don’t often see televisions with 120hz either you’re probably better off looking at a monitor for ideal gaming experience tbh.

TV’s with a low refresh rate “gaming mode” and at least 60hz is what you want tbh!

This might be a much better option for you albeit it’s 50” but in my experience you prob wouldn’t notice a difference. TV’s will always look way bigger at home than in the shop cos your living room is vastly smaller than the shop floor!

4k, 60hz and gaming mode that supposedly offers 120fps. Regardless afaik the PS5 generally can either support 1080p 120fps OR 4k 60fps very rarely 4k 120. Not much of a saving €25 off but still same price as the sharp but imo way better!

I have a Sky Glass at the min in the bedroom but we previously had a 50” LG 4K and I regularly played games on it without incident. No comparison to a good monitor though but finding a 50” monitor that doesn’t cost you a fortune will not be easy!

I'd be genuinely surprised if the panel hadn't got a refresh rate of 60Hz. Is that the power frequency you're looking at instead maybe?

All I could find that mentioned it was a product listing it stated the refresh rate as 50hz! Maybe it’s just me but finding it hard to locate any real info on the tv.

There are ps5 games at 4k 120hz. E.g. Thumper. Most ps5 games will have a 60hz mode and as already said Id be very surprised if the lidl panel can't output 60hz.

Hard to answer how good it will be with PS5. Most TVs will have youtube reviews to look at. I can't find anything on this TV model.

Yeah it must be a custom model number for Lidl or something. I don't think I've ever seen a HDMI capable panel that didn't refresh at 60Hz though. Plenty of EU a/c power specifications list 50Hz, but that's the frequency of the AC input.

Regardless, even if it was a 60Hz display, it'd be OK for PS5 but only OK. You'd definitely not be getting the best out of the console with this TV.
