Two buildings, one property. Separate electricity bills?

    Evening all.

We have rented out our family home in the Wesht but would like to retain use of the garage.

Obviously, no tenant will want to pay electricity bills for garage.

Is it possible to get a separate electricity bill for the garage?

You'll need to get the wiring changed and a separate meter installed

We wanted to get a meter physically moved in a house we were renovating, and were quoted in the hundreds, so I can't imagine your job being anything but very expensive.

Probably about 3k plus you'll be paying a second standing charge (hundreds a year)

You can probably come to an arrangement with the tenant that's cheaper than that. You could put anything using plugs on metering plugs and make a guess at the lighting usage to assist in figuring out something on an informal arrangement.
