Electrical Courses/Training

Does anyone out there know if there are any night courses/training in the basics of domestic electric circuits/installations etc..........? I'm not talking about being trained to wire a house or anything just some basic knowledge and understanding and maybe enough to wire a plug etc or are we expected to get an REC registered electrician to carry out all these things?

To be honest I hope there isn't.

You can learn to wire a plug in a few minutes from a YouTube video.

There's also plenty of information online on how domestic circuits are wired but anything other than replacing like for like and similar minor works would requite an REC.

True, but I have come across a few "like for likes" in industry and domestic with faulty connection integrity and components replaced with similar looking, but different rating/spec.
