Should I be claiming on my learner driver insurance

    That's right I've done it, checked all my blindspots go turn right and bam collision out of nowehere. No one hurt just some damage on the other drivers wing and my bumper, damage is 2700 and because its my fault I'd be fronting the whole amount. I can pay it off but wont have too much money left to spare at the moment. Question is should I pay for it out of pocket or claim on insurance with a 400 euro excess fee, not sure if I'll be in the country/own a car to really be punished for the increase in premiums, not a great situation all around but what do ye all think is the best way about this
