Just discovered why our Internet was out we hired a handyman to cut our hedge and he cut the cable taped it up and walked away.

Does anyone know if there are ways to fix this. Located in Tralee area.

It is fixable but requires very specialised equipment that in general only optical fibre installers will have access to. Unless you can get someone who as access to the equipment to do it as a nixer you are likely going to have to contact your provider but if they are not the same people who own the infrastructure they will likely need to in turn contact them

Thanks for the replies, working on finding someone for a nixer through a friend in the trades, if that fails will contact provider.

Just pi55ed that the guy walked away after tapping it and didn't say a thing.

The number of folks with a splicing kit out there is quite limited, finding somebody to do it as a nixer is a lonnng shot. IMHO always just call the provider as your fault will go into a queue and you dont want to wait a few days + another few days for the truck roll.

Don't be shocked if there's a charge for the repair.

    This isn't normal maintenance.
