Bigger and classier than the current one but in my opinion the current one looks better but maybe that's just because I am used to seeing it.

How many Superbs do Skoda sell a year here?

Could this possibly be the last generation of Superb here.

Really good drag Co efficient on both the saloon and estate the saloon more so.

Mark Nobble has a video up on You-Tube about it too,

Ive owned MkII and MkIII Superb's and must say I'm a bit disappointed that this new one looks so like the current one- both externally but also inside - seats looks almost identical for example. The new 190bhp AWD looks good on paper but if it's less than 70k in a decent spec I'll be very surprised. The 150bhp TDI will likely be the big seller but I wonder will it feel a bit underpowered as it's such a massive car. Some of the switch gear looks good- the climate controls look better than anything Ive seen elsewhere. The PHEV with 100km range would be a very decent option for a lot of drivers too but pricing on the old iV was nuts

The interior looks to be a step up in terms of quality and design but as said, the exterior is a very safely played evolution of the existing car. Too safe for me but might appeal more to others especially existing happy owners.

They’ll convert a good few Passat drivers who only have an estate option with the new model.

Any Passat drivers wanting to update to a new car that isn't an SUV, MPV, EV or crossover are severely restricted now for choice.

The new 5-Series, E Class, A6 (due for replacement soon) or even the A4 (also due for replacement shortly) are likely to be too costly to be realistic options for many, especially with PCP being less attractive now due to higher interest rates.

The new Superb will almost be the only option for anyone wanting a large saloon without the need for an estate. Even the VW Arteon is gone very pricey for what it has to offer. A shame really that there are so few nice mid-sized saloons available nowadays. Market forces and changing fashions I suppose.

Will not be an MPV anyway as that sector is practically dead unless you want a van with windows and the few that are so called MPVs now are very expensive.

Even Renault and Citroen two of the best MPV makers do not sell any here any more.

You feel with these SUVs You're getting a matchbox in Amazon packaging. Also a vast amount of excess weight being hauled around.

The superb is a slick saloon. The superb phev a good solution for many. But it's so expensive and very few used ones around.

    Vast amount of extra weight?

Skoda Superb 2.0 TDI DSG hatchback is only 150kg lighter than a Kodiaq with the same drivetrain, or 30kg less than a similarly specced Mondeo hatchback.

Interestingly, the Superb PHEV you’re praising is heavier than the Kodiaq 😬

Spent a while car shopping over the past few days, and hopping in and out of SUVs. I'm used to older cars, and its just jarring to get into a massive vehicle and find out you're not really gaining much interior space. New cars just seem bloated and overweight to me. 2023 Kodiaq (1774kg) / 2023 Mondeo (1664kg) / 1993 Mondeo (1305kg)

The Superb is like a Tardis in comparison.

As for PHEVs, I guess that disadvantage of a PHEV is you're carrying two motors (ICE and Electric Motor).

Dropping the ball by not going full EV in a large estate IMO.

Only one I know of and they're still quite small. But yet quite popular.

As a mark 3 owner was interested to see how they would move the design on. Very evolutionary and loses some of the sharpness of the previous model. Gone from looking crisp to a little bit bloated, Mondeo meets Passat. Interesting to see such a big deal being made about retaining a few analog controls, much like the outgoing model so.

Touch controls of recent VAG products is very poor. They'll all go back to some buttons eventually.

    Old one was sharper looking.

That €53,670 gets you the basic 150hp front-drive diesel, while if you want a plug-in hybrid that'll be €57,590. The PHEV model will be the only five-seat Kodiaq - the battery takes up the space needed for the folding third row - as all of the rest of the lineup comes with seven seats as standard.

Kodiaq pricing released recently, presume the superb will be circa €4k less?

    100% agree.

I'd pick up a used L&K spec of the outgoing wagon any day over the new one.

    L and k overpriced

Anywhere online have the full pricelist for the new Kodiaq?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 84 ✭✭davidivad

I cant find it anywhere anyway. It always frustrates me that the papers can get the prices, yet the main dealerships are slow to put it up onto their websites.
