So I am buying a car for 1st time and looking for useful tips/guidance....My ol fella used to handle these things but no longer an option...

I am visiting dealership on Sat to potentially trade up my new car....I don't know ANYTHING about cars, buying a new car, etc...

Normally my ol fella bought off private ownership but seems like hassle to me/don't know what I am doing anyway...

Any useful tips for trading up at dealership? Is neogtiating actually a thing? Or just some ol fellas like to think they are 'wheelers and dealers'??!

If someone could imagine talking to an 8 year old and approach me like that...

My ol fella always went diesel, but I am looking at petrol car on Sat......Is that really a big deal??! He'd be travelling all over the country looking to save a few hundred but don't think that is my cup of tea....I haven't a clue nor do I want to get robbed :)
