Renovation Grey Area - HBT and SEAI

Hi,

Looking for some advice for anyone who's been in a similar situation. We were recently granted planning permission turn my parents garage/den into a 3 bed house. Permission includes retention of the building as it was extended in the 90s, change of use to residential and a 30sqm extension. The project will be funded using a stage-payment mortgage and the land transfer is in progress.

Does anyone know if we would qualify for HTB or SEAI grants with this situation? It's not explicitly a self-build nor has the building every been classified as a residential building so we are not 100% clear!

No idea but are you not getting enough for free/almost free ?? Most people here had to pay their way, Celtic Tiger Mortgage / Massive Childcare costs etc etc etc....

As it's technically a new dwelling, you would not be eligible for SEAI grants.
