Hey, in the process of trying to buy a house in Dublin. Have spotted a house on Reuben Street, Rialto that I like. However, I am unsure of the area. Is it still rough or is it an OK area to live? All the old threads seem to advise against.

    Thanks for any help

Reuben Street is located in the Rialto area of Dublin 8, which is undergoing significant regeneration and gentrification. The area has a mix of social housing, private housing, and commercial properties. In recent years, there has been a lot of investment in the area, with new shops, restaurants, and cafes opening up.

Regeneration, Lipstick on a pig ! You're gut will tell you ! And if you've to come to boards then you already know ! If you're a 1st time buyer it's easy to get caught up in the urge to buy ! Think hard , it's a commitment that if you want to get out of in the short term will be costly ! Perhaps settle for less in a neighbourhood that feels right to you ! All the best !

Thank you! The house went for 500k, 106k over asking. Even the estate agent was shocked. The area still has a rough feel to it. Could be an investor buying and will rent out for a fortune, who knows
