Hi there, need a phone to receive WhatsApp messages as I’m starting a Hackney service and will require a second number, any suggestions welcome

don’t care about internet browsing or anything, just WhatsApp texts

BTW, you need an internet connection for WhatsApp, so you will need some form of smartphone.

I have a Motorola Defy, which I absolutely love. It was about 180 euro. There are loads of chinese made phones which are smart phones which you can get for around the 100 euro mark.

Pick up a Lyca esim and install WhatsApp business for the 2nd WhatsApp account. Works just the same as whatsapp

Vodafone do eSIMs so you can add that as 2nd SIM on iphone (I have Gomo as physical sim and Vodafone as eSIM on my iphone12)
