Still waiting for Vodafone to install Fibre after 8 weeks.

Wondering if anyone else has had issues trying to get Vodafone to install their fibre? We signed up on Aug 18th but once the service contractor came (2 weeks later) they said there was a blockage in the line. Fair enough says you. They scheduled a further evaluation which happened on September 16th (4 weeks from order). Rang Vodafone to find out the next step, no update. Rang every two to three days requesting an update. Told the same thing each time, still awaiting a report from Open Air, the contractor. So after 6 weeks I rang Open Air to ask what the hold up was. I was told the report was with Vodafone and Open Air were awaiting instructions to proceed and clear the blockage. Rang Vodafone again, told them this, agent apologized and eventually came back and said it is now with the orders team and they will issue the work instruction to Open Air. I asked what day it would happen and agent said the order would take a week to get processed. I was pretty much at the end of my tether at this stage but have never taken it out on any customer service agents, they are only doing their job. I did explain this wasn't a new order but he said it couldn't be helped. So i waited the week, that was last Tuesday. Rang for an update, nothing. Rang Friday, nothing. Rang Open Air today, still awaiting from Vodafone.

At this stage I'm beginning to wonder if the cost of the remedial work exceeds the gain to Vodafone and are they just hoping I'll go away. I live in an estate, not at the end of a 3 mile line in the country.

I would welcome any suggestions or advice.

    Thanks,

    FJ.

Submit a formal complain on Vodafone website or via the call and get a complain number. Then wait for 10 working days to let them resolve your issue. If not resolved in 10 days - contact ComReg with official complain and they should be able to help you.

I am actually in the similar situation but with Virgin Media who are not doing their job connecting our house for more than a month (and it was the only provider here) so we just decided to go with 5G broadband, it was much quicker and easier solution for us.

is the blockage on your property or out on the public footpath

if its on public that will expain the delay as theyll have to apply for digging license, public blockages can take up to 3 months.

if its on your own properrty works would normally be completed inside the month depending how busy crews are in your area.

    Thank you both,

At least if I knew what the problem was I wouldn't have to keep chasing them but I lost over 2 weeks simply by trusting what I was told, that it was being dealt with when nothing at all was happening.

I'll submit the complaint and at least then at least I have a reference number.

    Much appreciated.

    FJ.
