What is something popular everywhere in Ireland except Dublin?

I think one used to be Shaws stores, "almost nationwide", although they have since opened stores in the Capital.

Because Shaws is pretty crap to be fair. But in Dublin we have proper shops.

Walking. Back in the 90s I used to have friends down from Dublin to the small village I was from. They'd ask:

Friend - will we go to the cinema?

Me - there isn't one.

Friend - will we go to the pool hall?

Me - there isn't one.

Friend - ok, how about an arcade hall?

Me - there isn't one.

Friend - so what do you actually do here for fun?

Me - we eh go for a walk in the countryside.

Friend - ooookkkk. Goes for a 5 mile walk and actually enjoys it.

I find the opposite, people in Dublin walk to places whereas in non urban places you have to drive absolutely everywhere.

I find this also. Loads of good walks in Dublin but head down the country and youve to drive everywhere...including drive to go for a walk!

Dublin mountains, parks, beaches etc all accesible by foot/bike and without having to dodge cars on boreens.

I dont see anything the country has that Dublin doesnt. Other than cheaper houses and lack of internet :)

So far nothing listed is popular everywhere except Dublin. Some are popular outside Dublin but not everywhere outside Dublin.

I can think of things that are necessary outside Dublin, but that probably isn't enough to count as popular

A car being a prime example, you need one to get around in rural areas, but I'm sure if there was a realistic alternative it would be popular too

As for something that's only popular outside Dublin, would Garth Brooks count? Certainly the only people who seemed unhappy when he cancelled his concerts a few years back were from outside Dublin
