Some lyrics seem just daft. Like the one 'I wish i were a punk rocker with flowers in my hair' I never associated punks with flowers in the hair or elsewhere. Was the writer mixing them up with hippies?

That’s the point. The next lines are

In '77 and '69, revolution was in the air

I was born too late into a world that doesn't care

She’s consciously engaging in anemoia - nostalgia for times (both the Summer of Love and the Punk revolution) she didn’t experience. She’s comparing, contrasting and amalgamating them all at the same time.

McArthur Park a hit for Jimmy Webb when he was 18, is what's termed a nonsense song. The lyrics have no meaning but are just a combination on words and lines that fit the tune; 'someone left a cake out in the rain'

Like 'Tonight there's gonna be a jailbreak Somewhere in this town '

    The jail perhaps?

A weird song alright but if a cake is left out in the rain it will ruin it with the green icing flowing down. It is logical.

Rosaleen Linehan's party piece, never recorded was; 'Soap your arse and slide backwards up a rainbow'.

That bit in Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit:

    A mulatto, an albino

    A mosquito, my libido

Makes absolutely no sense. Still brilliant though.

"When you call my name it's like a little prayer

I'm down on my knees, I wanna take you there

In the midnight hour I can feel your power

Just like a prayer you know I'll take you there"

    Ohhhh matron!

And I even sucked an old man’s c*ck

    And I’ve f***ed a sheep

    And I’ve f***ed a goat

I’ve had my c*ck right down its throat

    So What, So What

So What, So What, you boring little c*nt, who cares, who care’s what you do!?

Who care’s, who cares about you?

    you, you, you, YOU

SO WHAT - Anti-Nowhere League, made famous by metallica

And thats just 1 verse......it gets worse

The first 2 lines are nothing like that.

    It's: Well I've f##ked the Queen,I've f##ked Bach.

    I don't want to see a ghost

    It's a sight that I fear most

I'd rather have a piece of toast

    And watch the evening news

Blue canary in the outlet by the light switch

    Who watches over you

Build a little birdhouse in your soul

Not to put too fine a point on it

Say I'm the only bee in your bonnet

Build a little birdhouse in your soul

If a Double Decker Bus crashes into us

To die by your side, such a heavenly way to die

And if a ten ton truck, kills the both of us

To die by your side, oh the pleasure, the privilege is mine

    A song by The Smiths

There's a busker playin' on the street

    Watching all the people meet

The boys and girls are back in Dublin town

There's young ones there from everywhere

From America to God knows where

It's just another night in Temple Bar

So come on down, out on the town

Cause' this is where a good time can be found

So bring along the old squeeze box, the fiddle and guitar

Let's have a good old night in Temple Bar

There's a stag do here from Liverpool

Chasing hens and on the boat

Old Barney's lashing out the 'Rare Auld Times'

Ah the Glasgow girls are on the floor

And a round of shots have just been poured

It's another crazy night in Temple Bar

So come on down, out on the town

Cause' this is where a good time can be found

So bring along the old squeeze box, the fiddle and guitar

Let's have a good old night in Temple Bar

There is no better place to be than this old town tonight

Nobody's going home till' they turn out the lights

So come on down, out on the town

Cause' this is where a good time can be found

So bring along the old squeeze box, the fiddle and guitar

Let's have a good old night in Temple Bar

So come on down, out on the town

Cause' this is where a good time can be found

So bring along the old squeeze box, the fiddle and guitar

Let's have a good old night in Temple Bar

Let's have a good old night in Temple Bar

For a song that many sing along to as a happy little summer song..... It's very rapey!

"Girl I want to make you sweat

Sweat 'til you can't sweat no more.

And if you cry out I'm gonna push it

Push it push it some more"

    (Inner Circle - Sweat)
