Doorstep - bridging DPC

Putting in a doorstep and was unsure as to what I need to do in regards to bridging the dpc. I'll be putting a fall on the steps to ensure it clears surface water. However, as the top of the step will be above the dpc what, if anything, do I need to do in order stop the dpc being bridged? From watching patio installers on…

The step will be presumably as ground floor level, in which case the DPC should be able this level. Maybe you mean SPM, but it its installed correctly, then there is no issue.
