Hi. A few years ago I graduated with a honors degree in Wildlife biology. Leaving college I struggled to get into a corresponding career and so just took a regular 9 to 5 retail job in the mean time, which i then became stuck in due to convenience. However now I'm hoping to step away from retail and try to find a job relating to my degree. Everything is looking for 5 years post degree experience which I don't have, and I'm finding it very hard to find volunteer work in that area. Any advice? Should I go back to college or are there any evening/ online courses I could add to my degree to help me find a job?

You don’t need to go back to full-time college. Focus on building relevant skills and experience through online courses, certifications (e.g., conservation, GIS, wildlife management), and small projects you can showcase. Volunteer opportunities may be limited consider citizen science projects, local environmental groups, or remote data analysis tasks. Networking with professionals on LinkedIn and attending webinars/conferences can also open doors. Tailor your retail experience to highlight transferable skills like project management, teamwork, and data handling.
