Time to replace my tv

Hi Lads, I bough the LG Oled55b7v in 2018 and it was a magnificent tv. Unfortunately it is developing severe screen burn that I understand is not covered by the 6 year warranty. Can you recommend another 55" tv that is of a similar level to the one I have?

Thanks for the post rondeco and I'm sorry to hear you're having issues with your TV.

Screen burn isn't covered by the warranty unfortunately but nothing touches the OLEDs for picture quality. If you're looking for a similar TV which isn;t an OLED you would need something like a Samsung QLED - The QE55QN95b is one of the best spec'd QLED TVs and is a great price at £999 at the moment:

Saying that, the newer OLEDs are a lot better when it comes to screen burn - it's an issue we see less and less in the more modern models. That's not to say it can't happen at all but with features like pixel shift it is harder to get burn in on them:

Sorry for the slow response, David. And thanks for the recommendations. Can you tell me about the LG Oled55g36LA? How much of a difference is there between it and the C34 you recommend. (Besides the price)

The G series is the gallery range and designed to go a wall and comes with its own wall bracket.

The main difference is that the G series uses a MLA Panel which gives a up to 70% brighter image compared to the EVO panel in the C series.

The 55G3 is priced at 2149€ and comes with a free LG G1 soundbar worth over 800€

The stand for the G series is priced at 119€

If you had to choose between the 55g2 or the 55c34 which would you choose? I think I'm down to one of these two.

Hey Rondeco.

I would have the 55G2 personally over the 55C3 nut both are excellent. The C3 uses the newer Gen 6 processor but the image on the G series is better in my opinion. The G series is designed to be wall mounted so the separate stand adds on a few extra quid.

The G2 can also get a bit brighter than the C3.

The C3 supports DTS audio formats while the G2 doesn't.

I'm finding it really difficult to decide between the suggestions you've offered.

With regard to the G3 I've seen a few reviews which state that when the stand is attached to it the tv is angled naturally towards the ceiling. Do you know if this is true or not? It still seems the best of all the tv's you've suggested but I dont want to hang it on the wall.

If you were choosing between the 4 we have discussed, which would you go for?

To be honest it must be very slight as we have not had a single customer who has purchased them mention it.

Our display one is wall mounted unfortunately.

The G3 are among the best OLED on the market. I've 2 LG OLED myself at home.

Followed by the Sony 55"
