Has anyone come across issues with DPF on Toyota RAV4? Garage quoting €5,500 to replace it.

Didn’t think of that. Might check that out. Main dealer are the quoting the price above and apparently it’s not covered under the “Toyota Touch” warranty.

Main dealer will just follow the manufacturer's script and want to replace it. Bring it to a DPF specialist who will remove and clean it for a fraction of the price.

It will pass no problem once it’s removed correctly. I’ve passed plenty of NCT’s without.

Got one replaced on an avensis recently the original one was beyond repair/ cleaning. Roughly €1600 iirc at indie garage with genuine Toyota part. Can’t say exactly because I was getting tyres, service and a few other jobs done as well.

€5,500 sound like utterly mad money OP I’d ring around a few good indie garages and see what they say

It should be a criminal offence to remove a DPF. The amount of relatively new diesels that are spewing out cancerous smoke is shocking.

Sorry for hijacking this thread - have any Rav4 owners come across this issue?

Cruise Control function no longer working and Engine Management Light constantly on the last few weeks.

    2016 Rav4 Diesel.
