Building on to end of terrace

I bought a house a number of years ago which was end of terrace with land to the side. The original owner split the land in 2, one half being the house which I bought, the other being the land which someone else bought. At the time they had planning to build a house next to mine, but this has lapsed for a number of years. They are looking to get planning again, and build right up against my end gable wall. What are my rights?

They can't build on your property. They can build up to their boundary. Exactly how that looks depends on whether you have a window on that side. How your house is situated etc. Be carefully that your house eaves is not oversailing your boundary. The prior grant permission not in your favour, especially if both properties were sole with the permission in place.

What outcome are you hoping for?
