Why don't we ever find out whether court fines are actually paid

Couple of obvious cases these days. The court gives a hefty fine but nobody ever reports whether it is paid.

What actually happens when it isn't paid? Please don't quite the rules, what does the court do(if there are real life examples of it, what do they do)

I would have thought an FOI request would get you this information minus any personal information or anything exempt from FOI. Figures of fines handed out and fines paid in could be handed over perhaps?

Could be wrong but worth looking into.

if Your a home owner or a tax payer most pay it as you can be chased via judgements etc .

Those not working or living in a council house don’t pay fines in the main . Their eventually arrested by gardai and brought to prison allegedly for 2 weeks but their normally out in a couple of hours after a good dinner . Thers no space to hold them for these less serious offences in the prison goveners eyes . There’s a section of Irish society with large extended families who know this well and only laugh at fines in court .

frustrating but no one in government cares . The law is only for the law abiding!
