Why can't I tax my van online?

Looking to renew the tax on my van. The renewal document from the tax office has no PIN on it. If you query it online they say you have to send the form to the tax office. There's no address where to send it on the renewal document.

Van was imported from the UK 18 months ago. I suspect this is a Brexit issue but why?

For 1st time taxing a commercial vehicle (in your name) you need to fill in Form RF111A and this must be witnessed in a Garda Station, after that it can be done online.

If you have the VLC, try taxing online with the PIN being the last 6 digits of the serial number of the VLC.

If CVRT is in date and it's 2nd taxing, there's no obvious reason it can't be taxed online.

Can you do the PIN retrieval option on motortax.ie for commercial tax? Might be able to get a new PIN that way.

Brexit? Ha, I've seen a lot of stuff blamed on Brexit but Irish motor tax is a new one! 😂🤣

You seem to have met all the requirements for online commercial taxing so who knows?

The renewal later should have come with an addressed envelope to send it back. Or the address will be the local motor tax office of whatever county it's registered in.
