50" TV Recommendations

Hi team,

Looking for the best bang for my buck for a 50" TV. I recently got an LG C1 and find the picture quality, software and magic remote to be excellent but open to any recommendations from Samsung/Panasonic if it makes sense.

Budget is in or around the 500 mark but would stretch to 600 if it's better in the long run and makes sense to do so. The room I'll be putting the TV in is quite bright during the day but I'd like it to be suited to both sports and movies in particular, ideally a general all rounder.

The LG C1 is an incredible TV - nothing touches the OLEDs for picture quality.

If you're looking for the best value 50" TV I think the Philips TVs are the way to go. The 50PUS8108 would be a great one to go for as it has a great 4K direct lit panel, Dolby Vision support, VRR (although it only has a native 50Hz panel) and an Android operating system. They give the best picture and specs for the money I think. They're also down to 600 euro at the moment including delivery and a 6 Year Guarantee:

Don't want to start a new thread, on the look out for a 50" also. Budget is at a minimum here, mainly used for Xbox and the odd match. Have a few of the Philips TVs and the are good bang for buck but budget won't stretch this time. Think I got one off ye previously, Any deals going?

The Philips 50PUS8108 is still one of the better TVs to go for for spec - it's a great 4K panel, Dolby Vision support and a great smart hub - the only amendment is the smart hub isn't actually the Android system - I had assumed as it was an 8 series it would have Android built in but on further reading it doesn't. You'll still get the main apps though.

Thanks for the post.

The Sharp 50" does indeed have the DVB-S2 tuner to allow you to connect it to a satellite dish and get the free to air satellite stations. (NOT FREESAT APPROVED).
