Donkey Kong II - 1980's Handheld

I want to buy one of these for my son. It was the 1st handheld game I ever played and would love to get him one as he loves retro gaming.

I see them online but with such a variety of prices I don't know which is a piece of crap, a good deal or a rip off. Where is the best place to buy something like this and what should I expect to pay?

Hate to break it to you but anything old and Nintendo will set you back a fortune and game and watches are highly desired and collectible. This game and watch seems to be worth well north of 100 euros probably even more. Nintendo did do keychain re-releases of some of the classic game and watches but this one doesn't seem to be part of that collection.

That's just the way retro game prices are now, they've gotten ridiculous.

Only other option is to look for a good quality chinese knock off if they even exist.

CEX UK stock them, and the prices aren't quite too eye watering.

And there are branches in Northern Ireland, so you might get lucky.

This was my first home game too. I don't think I'd get one for a kid in 2023 because while this was probably one of the best even back then they were pretty primitive compared to a NES port. If they were cheaper and the screens weren't deteriorating I'd consider it but buying one online you haven't seen is iffy.
