Transferring UK pension to ireland.

Hi there,

I worked in the uk back in 1995/96 for 2 or just shy of 3 years.

Does anyone have any advise as to how I would try and transfer this. I have heard numerous things, like it has to be min of 3 years you worked being 1.

Have you checked your national insurance contributions (https://www.gov.uk/check-national-insurance-record) to see how many qualifying years you have? I thought I wasn't eligible to buy back any years as I had only worked in the UK for 2.5 years however when I logged in to checked my contributions I saw I had 3 years of full contributions as I had paid tax in three different taxable years. Thus allowing me to buy back years for the UK pension.

I have also read about people who only had two years of contributions and were able to pay one year as class 3 and the rest as class 2.
