When you get a letter of a successful Invalidity Pension appeal, how long does it take to recieve first payment?

At a Guess up to 4 weeks depending on wether your on a current SW payment. They'll need to see if you were in receipt of another payment to work out arrears if applicable. I know with Disability Allowance it can take a minimum of 4 weeks.

    Congratulations by the way.

Well done. Your successfully appealed Invalidity application has been returned to Longford where they will continue processing it.

Im assuming they refused you on medical grounds?

If you applied to have a spouse or partner and or children added as dependents then he or she will be means tested for that and they may ask you to send up to date financial information for that part, but if it’s just yourself then the only hurdle to overcome is to check if you were getting another payment while you were waiting. That’ll be deducted from your arrears. You might be waiting a few weeks yet.
