Transferring money from branch

I had to go into a BOI branch yesterday to transfer money as it was slightly over the limit to do it online. The SEPA Credit transfer - EURO only non-urgent form was filled out by the agent in branch. However funds still hasn’t been deducted from my account yet. I would have thought this is a EFT, the person needs to get to be paid by tomorrow - should I be worried ?

Weirdly, the funds are debited at the same time they are credited.

It's a weird process, but one I have done with BOI a number of times recently.

Yes. I have had a problem with a BOI branch when doing this. Kept getting fobbed off by the branch when when enquiring. Eventually had to contact a relative in BOI Head Office, after two weeks to get it sorted.

Ah okay thanks for the information. At least a bit of relief here.

I wonder if the form gets sent to a back office staff who then does the transfer. SEPA transfers are meant to be instant.

Had no issues in the branch everyone was nice. Just wasn’t sure how the process works, but based on the above poster hopefully once the money is deducted it is credited on their payee side instantly - they are with AIB.
