Query about HKC panel

Hi all,

I hope you are all doing well.

I recently bought a house with my wife and we noticed that it came fitted with an HKC wired alarm.

The previous owners claimed to have never used it (but did have the code which they gave us) and I don't know how long it has been there. It has a sticker for Alertline on it but the phone number seems to no longer be active. There is a, for want of a better word, hub in the house that contains the backup battery and it has a different company and number on it that does work.

The HKC website didn't have a picture of the panel but I found it here. Is this a very old panel and should we be looking to upgrade it? We want to make sure that this is not something we will need to update or replace in a few (1-2) years.

Its a 10/70 or 10270, panel software can be upgraded on the system so no need to upgrade.

The newer keypad they have is a touch keypad which can be installed on your system.

The system itself must of been monitored by previous owner, it can be reactivated or you can have self monitoring with an app.

That HKC panel is still good and can be used with all the HKC devices. If you ask an installer to take over make sure part of the deal is to be given the engineer code for future.

Thank you all for the comments. We have decided to go with removing the alarm altogether for now. But we are great ful for all your replies and info.
