What are the chances and what do they ask for, will i have a million hurdles to jump through has anyone recent experience. I have never asked before for one

They need evidence of all your household income and savings, shares etc . Bear in mind they already know what accounts you have or ever had even empty or recently closed accounts. You'll have to get letters from banks where you recently closed accounts confirming that they are closed.

They need evidence of all of your financial outgoings. Start gathering that up.

Everything including the weekly shop. Car tax insurance petrol etc bins home insurance wifi tv licence home heating oil children going back to school. Whatever receipts you have to show your expenses. Write a letter setting out what it is you would like help with.

They need quotes for all the things you want to buy.

If you’ve already paid for something then that won’t be considered.
