Source for fasteners for Glen L Malahini

Hi, I'm new to Boards. I hope I'm posting in the correct forum.

I'm just ready to start cutting the frames for my Malahini. Glen L recommend silicone bronze or hot dipped galvanised screws, nails and bolts. I'm kinda shocked at the cost of silicone bronze screws etc. Does anyone have a reasonably affordable source for these items?

Or maybe there are cheaper alternatives?

You wont need many screws or nails as most of the bonding is done by the epoxy using a lot of clamps. I also used some plastic raptor nails that can be sanded. I thought you'd be the first to reply Fergal 😊 I've been following all your stories re Crackerbox, engine restorations etc. If my boat finishes half as good as yours I'll be more than happy.

Did you use ilicone bronze or hot dipped galvanised screws/nails?

Oh, Glen L advises against stainless steel. Where you not concerned about the crevice corrosion mentioned?

No most of the screws I used were removed after the joint was glued and set then the screw holes filled with epoxy.
