Longest inland waterway without a crossing

Trying to settle a bet. I believe the longest stretch of inland waterway in Ireland without a crossing is the Munster Blackwater between Youghal and Cappoquin. It’s 18.62 km as the crow flies. By road it is either 26.3km on one side of the river or 29.8km on the other side. A 30 minute drive on either side.

Can this be beaten?

The estuary wouldn't be classed an inland waterway.

The Shannon is tidal from above Limerick.

I’d reckon it is River/Lough Corrib between the Quincentennial Bridge in Galway city to its western end in Connemara. That’s 30 miles or 50 kilometres.

I know that’s a lake, but it’s the longest section of inland waterway in Ireland I can think of without a bridge.

Agreed but from the bridge upstream it's a tidal river which I think is different to an estuary.

By the way are we classing waterways as navigable waters or just any stretch of water ?
