When to give minerals to ewes pre mating

    Ewes are currently on a bare paddock


    Ewes will be let out on aftergrass on August 14th

    I will be letting the ram out with the ewes on september 3rd


    When do I give ewes minerals to increase conception rates? Is it now or August 14th?

    I used to give it to them the day I let out the ram, but the lad I get the mineral dose from told me last year it’s best to give it bout 2-3 weeks before letting out the rams
