Boston Acoustics XS 5.1 Subwoofer died, alternatives, or go for a Soundbar

    My BA XS 5.1 Subwoofer finally died, after long and faithful service. The 5 (mini) speakers are still fine.

    I presume technology has come a ways since I purchased it, so what are my options/your recommendations.

    (It was plugged into a Sony DH810 Amp (which is 7.1, but never got the two other speakers), connected to a Blueray player, Freeview box, and Sony KD-50X72 TV.)

    Most of the kit purchased from yourselves, as will the replacement.

    Should i just swap out the Subwoofer, as everything else is fine?

    Should I take the opportunity to get a sound bar? Are they as good as an 5.1 setup? Do they still go through the Amp?

    Please give me a suggestion, as well as prices.

Rich Text Editor. To edit a paragraph's style, hit tab to get to the paragraph menu. From there you will be able to pick one style. Nothing defaults to paragraph. An inline formatting menu will show up when you select text. Hit tab to get into that menu. Some elements, such as rich link embeds, images, loading indicators, and error messages may get inserted into the editor.
