Taking Crutches on Flight? Allowed?

Are Crutches allowed on Ryan Air domestic flight (Ireland to UK)

It's not a domestic flight 😉

But to answer your question, if you need crutches you can bring them on board but you will need a doctor's letter stating that you're safe to fly (pressure can build up inside casts etc).

If you're bringing them for someone else they'd have to be packaged securely and checked in as oversized luggage

Travelled with my son back earlier in the year when he was on crutches. No need for a doctor's letter, although he wasn't in plaster. Indeed it was somewhat of a bonus as we were sped through Security and given first boarding on the aircraft.

My son flew to Spain with Ryanair two weeks ago and needed crutches but wasn't in a cast. He did not need a fit to fly letter from his GP. His crutches were swabbed at security.

Crutches are fine. It's a cast that is a problem in case of swelling. They don't like you to fly with a new cast in case of swelling. Book assistance if needed.

Flew Dublin to Stansted in June and return with Ryanair on crutches and an orthopaedic boot. Zero issues, doctors note or anything else required, cabin crew will place the crutches into overhead lockers.
