What in your opinion will Ireland look like on 2050?

Looking at the country at present, I think things will get a lot worse.

Care to offer an opinion yourself beyond a single vague line?

The foreigner residing among you must be treated as your native-born. Love them as yourself, for you were foreigners in Egypt. I am the LORD your God.

If you’re looking at a map in 25 years time, it’ll still look like the UK is spooning Ireland, and we’re the little spoon 😳

There will be a fresh public debate discussing the merits of building Dublins first metro line.

2003 wasn't really much different to now, 2053 probably won't be that different either.

It'll probably look like the underside of a coffin lid for me in 2050.

Other than that, we'll probably have self-drive cars everywhere.

One big data centre. People will be used in hamster wheels to generate power for them.

I'm looking forward to a simpler life with the added bonus of higher degree of aerobic fitness in this shiny new future of yours!

I'd imagine more women in tight fitting figure hugging ski bottoms wouldn't look too bulgy in all the wrong places under this exciting new regime either...

Always look on the bright side of life! Do do, do do do di do!

Much like France 2023. Huge ghettoised areas after white flight kicks in. Dublin City centre abandoned as people stop going in. Running feuds and street battles between post code gangs, riots when gang members are arrested.

Hopefully Poland and Hungary etc are still strong and open to retire to.

It will be amazing with all the new Irish, the LGBTQ I+ office in the Dublin 2 central mosque. All those woeful cisgendered people will be mysteriously wiped out in the mysterious wave of deaths.

Our application to join the Organisation of African States will have been successful. #

After much debate it will have been decided that there is no need to build a metro line to Airport, but the original plan for a Tram line is being updated and is due to go to the planning board within the next 5 years.

After successfully wiping out the Dairy and Beef industry the Greens are now turning their forus on the vegatable sector as reports are confiming that plants have lives too and eating of them will be banned.

President Tubridy signs Ireland into NATO. Cork and Galway proudly take joint place as the most congested cities in the world beating Dublin for the first time though Dublin does proudly takes the title as largest city in the world without a metro. Taoiseach Harris reduces tax on the price of tents for first time buyers although the time taken in getting planning permission for your tent still remains high.

Full of climate change refugees, FG will still be keeping the house prices artificially inflated by preventing new ones from being built and there will be a monorail to Dublin airport

I reckon there will be lots of flying cars and personal hoverboards to get around, electric ones like..

Artificial intelligence will have rendered humans surplus to requirements and we just spend all day wired up to virtual reality machines enjoying roles in adult movies.

These will be the survivors of the 2030 right wing purge. Left wingers using ai identified through board postings "extreme right wing" elements. Said ai robots traced right wing boards to their real life address and bank accounts. The digital currency was then denied to the right wingers.

Right wingers sadly had no choice but to comply with left wingers demand for ai powered "neural network rearrangement".

Right wingers then had their neural networks rearranged to accept unlimited migration and the idea that there are two thousand genders.

It will be like penal times in Ireland. You will be taxed for every window in your tent.

Rates of depression and suicide will skyrocket even further because of the housing crisis, but the government will borrow billions for health care boards and management to understand why instead of just Googling, asking ChatGPT, Denmark, or the dogs on the street.

Then they will discover why and promise to sort out the housing problem again.

Taylor Swift will do her definitely final farewell tour and loads of people will want to attend even though they don't know any of her songs.

Ryan Tubridy will be discussing his plans for the toy show, in July. And the people will be glad. The guests on the show will be Michael Bublé, a British singer who draped themselves in a tri colour at Slane, the cast of Mrs Brown's boys, a boxer who won a gold medal, and Bosco.

Ryan will dress up as a lobster and dance will the Billy Barry kids and interview desperately sick children for likes on his Instagram account.

The RTE license fee will be 1000 euro and RTE will invest billions in more flagship property porn programs starring architects with HUGE black glasses frames.

Darragh O'Brien will be president of Ireland.

First thing that comes to mind is that "Net Zero by 2050 promises" would not be fulfilled. Not even close.

So you're going to emigrate to get away from the immigrants? I really struggle to see how we'd ever have worse scumbags in Dublin than our own born and bred ones anyway, it's surely impossible.
