Poster paints not permanent

    I am doing a small project and need to color paper. Posterpaint seems suitable. But I read poster paint is not permanent. What does that mean? Is it just that it can be washed out of clothes.?

    Painted on to ordinary printer paper stored indoors, not wet, it won't fade off will it?

    IIRC it means it doesn't cure; that it always remains water soluble. it doesn't mean it will or won't fade, but indoors it wouldn't be subject to much bleaching if kept out of sunlight.

    acrylic paint is also water based, but is permanent.

    You'd be better off with acrylics, they are a fair bit stronger than poster paints.
