AA Hyundai Assist Plus

I have a Hyundai Tucson with a free 5-year AA basic cover such as flat battery, home rescue, etc. But it does not cover flat tyre. To include flat tyre repairs, I am told to get AA Hyundai Assist Plus, which costs €40 a year.

Has anyone used AA assist plus? Is it worth it?

I am looking primarily for tyre puncture, and lost key.

What do you mean by a lost key? Wheel lock key or car key.

AA won't cover that. If you have lock doctor on your insurance - it's the way to go. No second key?

AA Assist Plus does cover it. Please have a look at the link i posted. "Keys locked in the car/lost are covered".

Other main reason for me to get it is to fix tyre puncture. Again, you could say visit your local tyre shop 😀

Locked in to the car - yes. Lost & without any second key - they might organise a locksmith, I genuinely don't think they'll pay for it.

Even lock doctor on most insurance policies,if your keys are lost they'll cover it,locked in you have to pay. Any second key at that stage is going to be deleted.

That's why I asked if you have a second key. If you have the spare key & you're thinking you'll get a new one from Hyundai/AA cover - sorry,it'll be a non runner.

As far as the wheel, it's fit spare it it has one / temp plug if possible / take wheel to tyre centre or recovery in the case of no spare supplied as OE.

Anything in an emergency will work. Yes, I do have a spare car key at home.

I am happy with the plug repair of a punctured tyre when you're stuck in the middle of nowhere. AA fixed one for me recently, and I have done about 5000 km on it without any issues.

The main dilemma is my AA membership is expiring today, and AA assist plus that comes with new Hyundai cars is €40 annually. Whereas AA membership is north of €160.

I'm open to correction ,the €40 extends cover to things that isn't Hyundais' fault. misfuels,lockouts,punctures etc. If that's your only car, it's as good as it gets really.

Your AA cover covers the person - not a particular car & level of cover depends on the policy.

Like any breakdown cover though, there's small print & then smaller print.
