Honestly sick of them. They'd have us dragged back to the dark ages. They were against the marriage referendum and the abortion referendum. Here they're going on about respecting nature when it comes to gender, but they're against even the most basic measures to protect the environment. And Danny is quoted as saying there isn’t enough scientific evidence for medical interventions?! When has Danny ever been interested in scientific evidence?

But sure they're great lads to get a pot hole filled, your granny's cataracts done, and you'll have the MHR branded car parked at the church gate fine and early for your da's funeral so everyone knows he was there.

So what exactly do you disagree with in what he said?

You aren't a fan of science yourself it seems though.

Just checking in to check that the two are the two that first sprung to mind.......

All of it really. They want to go back to the simpler times of our grandparents, when everything was simpler. Maybe it was if you were a straight man. It was illegal to be gay though, and if you were a young unmarried woman and got pregnant you were sent off to the laundries. Shame kept everyone in their place. Hardly the utopian dream.

I think education is a good thing, and would opt for it over ignorance any day of the week. With a little bit of education Danny wouldn’t have made such a disgusting and baseless accusation about the trans community which he later retracted and apologised for. Although I think he knew exactly what he was saying and the effect it would have.
