Will customs delay my engine rebuild kit?

I need to order a engine rebuild kit for my tractor soon. Its a super major with a Cargo 590e engine, so rebuild kits aren't common, and only one I could find was from agriline which is in England.

I've heard about all the issues with customs lately, even some clothes my mum ordered have been stuck in customs for 4 weeks now...

So if I order the kit, with the standard delivery, total price is 440 euro, but will it be there for weeks or months? Any ideas or info is appreciated 👍

Might be worth asking on the Modified Majors fb page if anyone has the kits in stock up the north or even down here.

Also be worth enquiring about the quality of various rebuild kits too.

Some very knowledgeable posters on there, that'd be very familiar with the 590e cargo.

There's a parcel motel type thing in Jonesboro on the border. I know a lad he gets stuff sent there often - no delays n no import duty from the uk

They are fairly quick - you should get notified of the fee if anything is due a day or two after it arrives in Ireland - once that's paid its released the next day back into the postal system.

So no major delays - definitely not more than a week as long as you pay up.

It's the value of the item that they base the charge on... There's a website that calculates the cost for you....

As a general ball park figure if it is priced at 400 sterling in the UK it's going to be around €600 by the time you have it here. Usually a week or 10 days.

There's a few variations of those engines so make sure you know exactly what engine you have before you order parts. Some of them were used in boats and compressors. I'm not an expert, but lots of good lads on forums who know their stuff.

Yeah I looked it up before, and I have a single piston ring 590e engine. Which means its an older one which was prone to burning oil...
