LG TV region issues for apps

Just bought a new LG tv after lightning took out my old Samsung.

The Samsung was great as it had all the apps. But with the LG it looks like the channel 4 app is region locked to UK. I can switch the location to the UK and this will let me view programmes but in doing so I lose NOW tv access as the app seems to connect to the UK version and it won't let me log in with an Irish account due to Brexit.

Anyone know how I could get Channel 4 and NOW tv to work on the same region?

On my TV, I originally set it to Ireland and downloaded all the apps.

Then changed it to UK and downloaded Channel 4 player.

Everything works for me that way.

I leave it set on UK now for location for both TV channels and internet, all apps work fine.

I'm using an LG Nanocell TV, I bought it this year.

Delete the UK Now TV app before you go back to Ireland, if you are going to try this.

No need to reset country from Ireland as this works for me. I just discovered this method this week.

Use the Web browser and go to the channel 4 site. Navigate to c4 player and open but do not select download. Click on the 3 dots at the top right corner and from the drop down menu select creat shortcut on home screen.

Now when you want to watch the channel 4 player just click on the short cut on the home screen.

Even easier than that now

C4 Player App is working on my TV now when setting location is Ireland.

Was messing around yesterday, changed settings location to UK

C4 Automatically downloaded

I logged in.

Then changed location settings back to Ireland and C4 player is working perfectly.

Strange, working fine on my Nanocell now.

I also downloaded the PBS app when in UK mode, working grand in Ireland Location now.

Virgin media app is a problem, has not updated since August

I keep it in Ireland region now as I like some of the LG Fast channels

Funny - I can't get the FAST channels working at all - changing regions back to Ireland(as the original country) doesn't work for me. Need to leave the service region as UK so Freesat works - perhaps that's the problem…

Yes, that's the problem

Location has to be Ireland for both broadcasting channels and Internet.

It used to work when both were UK and we got a better selection of Fast channels, but only works on Irish now.

There is no question that the value of freesat outweighs the value of FAST channels! :)
